D.L. Hughley's show on CNN, "D.L. Breaks the News" has been cancelled...

Well, they canceled D.L. Hughley's show on CNN and I think it was about time. That shit was NOT funny and son was not a good host.

From the very first episode I caught, I was like, "damn.. Who writes this corny ass monologues and bad jokes?". He was always laughing at his own unfunny jokes in the desperate attempt that his laugh might catch on and make you laugh. We didn't.

Now, mind you, I like D.L. and thought he was the funniest and best host Comic View ever had. His impromptu cracks on audience members were LEGENDARY and I've never seen anyone do it better, ever.

His stand is is pretty good, too. But Bill Maher, he's not...

the real funny part is that i never realized he was trying to be funny until reading your comments. i hated the fact that the only black person that cnn (a news channel) gave a hosting job was a comedian. that was bullshit in itself with all of that qualified and knowledgable black people out there. what about a college professor or a community acitvist, ie Cornell West or Al Sharpton. black people who know what's going on and can articulate it. without making a damn joke of it. it's a news channel not comedy central.

I find it hilarious you didn't know he was joking. That is how bad he was at that show.

I hated it anyways...the only black person on the broadcasting network...and he has to make jokes in order to draw black peoples attention. Not cool.

Yea....sadly I watched it from the beginning and after the 3 episode I was like you know what, this shit ain't funny....and the show last for 1 hour!!!!!!!!!...that's 30 more minutes too many

He didn't loose his edge...it just seemed like he tried to bring jokes to some serious issues...and did it tastelessly.

are they fucking serious? A Pimp named Freddie Mac? on CNN? Who the hell are they expecting to watch this? Not the way to go to draw in young black people into watching the news.

Not too bad. I thought it was funny. But I can tell that it's a Bill Maher Type Format with less polish.

I think it had potential but like they say, "You only get one shot".
