An associate of mines has a small kids store in manhattan, and this particular store as an website.

My question would be how can my associate get more visitors on there website.
And do you think the website is too plain, If so, what could or should be change.
Here is another website that is her rival, and is 1 block away from her store.

Thanks guys

well free flyers would do the trick, or include a flyer in enevry bag so the customers can show it to their friends. Lets see i would want to see how much unique visitors her sites gets per month/week, from there i can say if it needs a retouch. if it gets much visitors i would make it a lil more professional and, it loks kinda shebby right now

Well, the second site link doesn't work at all, but I don't really need a comparison.
The site should be judged on it's own merits and to be honest, it looks really sparse.
Looks like an OSCommerce or ClickCartPro based shopping cart.
The site needs to be a regular, full on website with a store area. That way you can promote sales, etc. and link it to the cart.
The site needs a logo, a beautiful, warm, Mom-friendly color scheme and needs more pictures of what it is they sell, right on the home page.
Babies are not what the sell. Cute baby stuff is what they sell. They need pics of babies wearing/using the items, but even more important, they need pictures of MOTHERS with babies using the items and having FUN, smiling, etc.
Clients come to the site looking for what you can do for them. Wealth is a measure of how much value - real or percived - you provide to others' lives.
The site needs to demonstrate visually to it's demograpihc/psychographic how what they sell will solve their problem, answer the question or improve their lives.
Just my 2 cents. ;-)
